Overview
Teachers at Cranleigh are expected to have sympathy with the overall vision and ethos of the school. They should display a real commitment to the academic, personal and social development of children. They need the ability to relate well to and communicate effectively with parents, staff and pupils.
Teachers are expected to contribute in general to the high academic standards and disciplinary ethos of the school, and to follow its policies. They should seek to make a real contribution to Pre-Prep.
Additional responsibilities above those of a class teacher:
- Responsibility for preparing, teaching and directing all Pre-Prep Sports' Days
- Responsibility for preparing, teaching and directing all Pre-Prep Interhouse Competitions
- Planning and teaching the P.E. curriculum for Pre-Prep
- Observe and develop the standard of teaching and learning in Pre-Prep PE lessons, ensuring consistency
- Co-ordinate the delivery of Pre-Prep lessons among other PE staff
- Tracking assessment data for all Pre-Prep PE
- Ensuring that individual student needs are being addressed by coordinating interventions
- Ordering, storing and maintaining the P.E. resources for Pre-Prep
- Coordinate, and deliver effectively, the teaching and learning of CCAs
- Liasing with the Director of PE & Sport to ensure the Pre-Prep prepares pupils for the Prep School
- Attending Department Meetings
- Attending and helping out with sporting events
- Meet with Pre-Prep PE staff and coordinate planning
